This is a campaign project of three posters and a campaign summary booklet combating deforestation in Sabah, Borneo in Malaysia. The campaign aims to reimagine a better and more hopeful world, for animals and children, through the use of reforestation
The challenge: 59%-70% of Malaysia is made of tropical rainforest, and within this, there are 200 mammal species, 600 bird species, and 15,000 plants. Currently, up to 80% of rainforests are being logged and heavily impacted by deforestation, with Borneo being the main sources for palm oil deforestation.
Solution: Because of the high demand for palm oil it would be difficult to stop this process, but we can encourage local communities and families in Sabah, to try and encourage them to go to already existing WWF reforestation programmes nearby to reverse the process instead.
Orangutan poster: with a focus on planting fig trees which help provide fruit for Orangutan
Children poster: with a focus on planting Dipterocarp trees which grow quickly to reduce climate impacts and provide a better world to live in
Tiger poster: with a focus on Laran trees which contribute to animal habitats in exposed areas, for animals such as tigers
